Electrosmog Detector

The Electrosmog Detector allows you to actually hear the digital pulsing of microwave frequency signals. COM Environmental Microwave Monitor

COM Microwave Environmental Monitor is ideal for checking that exposure levels near to cellular phone base-station masts (including 3G/UMTS, but see note below), TETRA base stations, wireless computer networks, cordless phones, microwave ovens, and other microwave sources, are safe.

It features a vertical array of 10 coloured LED lights, each with a measurement threshold, further grouped into easy-to-read bands of green, yellow, and red. Frequency range 100 MHz - 3 GHz; display range 0.7 - 6.5 V/m. Please note that because 3G/UMTS systems are "spread-spectrum", the apparent signal strength will be less than an equivalent GSM signal by a factor of between 5 and 20 - this is because the power is dispersed over a wide band of frequencies at lower measurable signal strength. This may result in some 3G/UMTS signals not reaching the meter's minimum measurement level of 0.7 V/m.

The COM was formally tested by UK government agencies in 2001 and found to give a good indication of the signal levels in all the mobile/cellular phone frequency bands, and deemed suitable for use as a quick-check field strength meter. It is now often the instrument of choice for senior EMF researchers at a number of UK universities.

Shielding fabrics

Protect with shielding fabrics which can deflect potentially harmful wireless microwave radiation - have been available for several years. It wasn't until the Electrosmog Detector came along that shielding fabric manufacturers were able to demonstrate the true effectiveness of their fabrics - used as window coverings and other protection products.

Shielding fabrics have metal threads woven into the yarn. The level of microwave radiation protection provided by these fabrics depends on their construction.

The fabrics deflect in excess of 90% of Electrosmog across the spectrum of wireless communications emissions.

Two stylish and light-weight fabrics are currently available for purchase by the metre. These are similar in construction to fine gauze.
